"YOU DRIVE" RENTAL
CONDITIONS
RENTAL PERIOD: A day is 24 hours from the time of pick up or delivery.
Each additional hour over the last 24-hour period is calculated at one fifth of the
applicable daily rate, up to 5 hours when an additional day is charged.
CUSTOMER SAFETY: In the interest of customer safety, we reserve the
right to terminate any rental agreement in progress or to deny or accept any booking.
DRIVERS LICENCE: We require the driver to produce a current
Australian, Overseas (in English) or International Drivers Licence.
The licence must be non-probationary.
Bus/truck endorsement or equivalent license is required to drive the Coaster, Rosa,
Mercedes-Benz, MAN buses.
AGE: Drivers must be between 21 and 75 years of age.
Drivers between the age of 21 and 25 must pay a surcharge of $15 a day and all vehicle
excesses are double. For all Mercedes-Benz and MAN buses seating 24 people or more, the
minimum age requirement is 25 years including five years experience with the required
level of drivers’ licence for the vehicle.
VEHICLE DAMAGE: Damage cover for Buses + 4WD Hire and third party
vehicles is included in the rates, but excesses do apply which may be lowered at the
renter’s option by payment of a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). Damage as the result
of a single vehicle accident is subject to excess over and above the normal excess. Single
Vehicle Accident damage excess is an extra $2000 for every occurrence for buses and $5,000
for 4WD.
All underbody, overhead and interior damage is at the renter's expense at all times.
All damage cover is void if the vehicle is driven off government gazetted well-maintained
roads, (4WD are the exception). All 4WD water immersion damage is at the renter’s
expense, including vehicle recovery costs.
The rental agreement contains detailed damage cover conditions and exclusions. The
customer is required to have the Excess amount available as clear funds on their credit
card at the time of picked up.
RENTERS ARE REMINDED THAT: The limited liability applies as long as
the customer has not violated the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.
FUEL is not included in the rates. All vehicles are
supplied with a full tank and returning vehicles will be refuelled
at the renter's expense, charged at
$2.00 a litre.
GOVERNMENT TAX: GST is included in the rental rates but will be added
to the cost of all extras as required by Australian law.
State government stamp duty and Administration Charge of 2% is not included.
CREDIT CARDS: Facilities include Bankcard, Visa, MasterCard, Diners
Club and American Express.
RESERVATIONS & CANCELLATIONS:
Vehicles 25 seats and under: A deposit of $100 is required at the time
of booking to secure your vehicle, a further deposit of $100 per rental
day is required fourteen days prior to collection.
No Charge for reservations cancelled prior to 3 days (72 hours).
After 3 days (72 hours) all deposit monies becomes non–refundable.
Vehicles 29 seats and above: A deposit of $200 is required at the
time of booking to secure your vehicle, a further deposit of $100 per
rental day is required fourteen days prior to collection.
No Charge for reservations cancelled prior to 3 days (72 hours).
After 3 days (72 hours) all deposit monies becomes non–refundable.
SECURITY DEPOSITS: A credit card security deposit
of $500 – $1,000, depending on the type of vehicle, for clients
taking CDW is required prior to receiving your vehicle. For clients
electing not to take CDW, a credit card pre authorisation of the amount
equivalent to the Damage Cover Excess is required as the rental security
which is refundable if the vehicle is returned on time, undamaged,
clean, with all the equipment as supplied.
CLEANING: Should the vehicle be returned with an unreasonably dirty
interior, a cleaning fee of $100 or more will be charged.
ONE WAY RENTALS: Minimum rental period is 5 days.
UNAUTHORISED ONE WAY RENTALS: Any unauthorised one way rentals will
incur a minimum fee of at least $300.
BUSES AREA OF USE: Use of buses in undesignated areas
will incur a surcharge of A$0.25 cents per kilometer for all kilometers
driven in addition to the normal kilometer charge of between A$0.25
and A$0.40, depending on the vehicle.
CHILD SEATS: It is mandatory, in a vehicle other than a bus, with in
Australia for young children (under 3 usually) to travel in a child seat whilst in a
vehicle. Child seats are available for a cost of A$5.00 per day to a maximum of A$50.00
per rental, per seat.
DELIVERY: Buses + 4WD Hire will deliver vehicles to, or offer courtesy
pick up from hotels, motels, railway terminals or docks. Delivery is to with in 15
kilometres of any Buses + 4WD Hire office. Vehicles are to be returned to a designated
place which is allocated prior to collection of any vehicle.
MAPS: Local street directories for capital cities and maps are
available free of charge.
ALL RENTALS ARE SUBJECT TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS ON THE RENTAL
AGREEMENT.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS - FOUR WHEEL DRIVE
VEHICLES
4WD AREA OF USE: Our four-wheel drive vehicles are built for hard work
and are designed to go off road with care, no geographical limits, but they are subject to
road and weather conditions. All 4WD water immersion damage is at the renter’s
expense, including vehicle recovery costs. Bypassing police or local council directional
warning signs would void damage cover. We can advise you on where to go and what to see
off road. Please ask.
"WE DRIVE" RENTAL CONDITIONS
PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS: Buses + 4WD Hire employs professional and
dedicated drivers who are all fully licensed and accredited with The Department of
Transport.
REST STOPS: For your client’s safety and to comply with the law
the driver must have meal and rest stops away from the bus.
It is important to note there are restrictions on driving hours and laws which drivers
must observe. We would recommend that you consult our sales staff when planning your tour
itinerary.
OVERNIGHT STOPS: Driver allowances for an overnight stay must include
one meal and accommodation at the customer's expense.
INCLUSIONS: "We drive you" tour rates include stamp duty,
insurance and fuel.
SURCHARGES:
Add $55 per hour including GST for the driver.
